    PROFILE

    Korab R. Sejdiu is one of the founding partners of Sejdiu & Qerkini, L.L.C. He is licensed to practice law in the United States (New York, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania), as well as Kosova.  He serves as an Arbitrator at the ADR Center of the American Chamber of Commerce in Kosovo. Mr. Sejdiu also served in the past a term as a Member of the Parliament of the Republic of Kosovo.

    Mr. Sejdiu serves as counsel to mainly business clients, and has substantial experience in complex commercial litigation, international and domestic arbitration, contracts, banking and finance, legal compliance, competition and telecommunication matters, mergers and acquisitions, matters involving public institutions and regulators, energy sector, corporate restructuring, asset sale, contractual negotiations, due diligence, bankruptcy, to name a few.

    Mr. Sejdiu received his Bachelor of Science degree at The College of New Jersey in 2001, majoring in International Business and Economics. In 2004, he received his Juris Doctor degree from Widener University School of Law in Delaware, U.S.A. In the last year of his Juris Doctor studies, he was named a Wolcott Fellow, an honor extended at that time to four exceptional students, which allowed him to clerk for the Delaware Court of Chancery, the notorious U.S. court for corporate matters. Also during his juris doctoral studies, he was a Managing Editor of the Delaware Journal of Corporate Law, a leading national journal.  He also holds an LLM in Banking and Financial Law from the University of Boston School of Law, a top law school in the United States.

    Following his studies, he passed the bar exams and received his attorney licenses in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Initially, he clerked for the New Jersey Supreme Court and then joined a prestigious Philadelphia law firm, representing Fortune 500 clients on corporate and commercial issues.

    Mr. Sejdiu returned to Kosova at the end of 2007 and was hired by Bearing Point (a USAID contractor) as a Legal Adviser on a project supporting the Kosova Assembly, and later the Office of the President of the Republic of Kosova, and as a commercial law trainer for the Kosovo judiciary and Chamber of Advocates. Mr. Sejdiu served as the Legal Adviser and Counsel to the President of the Republic of Kosovo from 19 March 2008, up until the end of the President’s term in September 2010.

    Mr. Sejdiu is also one of the founders of the annual Balkan Arbitration Conference, which gathers experts from the region, the European Union, the United Kingdom and the United States.

    He also taught Business Law and International Economic Law for undergraduate and masters students at the Law Faculty of the University of Prishtina and the Economic Faculty of Riinvest College. In the past, Mr. Sejdiu also made regular teaching visits at the prestigious Imperial College London, where he taught MBA students on corporate social responsibility and business ethics. Mr. Sejdiu also taught in the past as an adjunct at the American University in Kosovo (AUK) the courses Law & Society and Modern Constitutional Law.  He also taught in the area of business law, corporate governance, and financial services law at the prestigious Swiss School of Economics, and currently teaches a couple of courses at UBT College.  Mr. Sejdiu has been published in the areas of commercial, international, and constitutional law.

    Mr. Sejdiu has served in the past as a member of the Board of Directors of the Kosovo Foundation for Open Society and was also Chairman of the Board of the Civil Rights Program / Kosovo, which serves the legal interests of the underprivileged and unrepresented citizens of Kosovo.  He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of KEP Trust, a leading microfinance institution in Kosovo.  In addition, he is the Chairman of the Arbitration Commission of the Kosova Basketball Federation and is a Member of the Sport Arbitration Council of the Kosovo Olympic Committee.

    Apart from Albanian, he also speaks English and Serbian. He is married and has three beautiful children.
